Cathy Black, MA, Minister, Owner, Admissions

Cathy originally began practicing massage in 1980 and recently completed her Master’s Degree from Lesley University in Intuitive Healing and Facilitation. She was connected with the Scherer Institute from 1991- 1998 when she created and taught the Healing Quality of Touch massage courses. She has come back full circle to Scherer’s as co-owner with her husband Keith, because she loves the school and knows the potential of massage to positively change people’s lives. In addition to her function as owner and admissions director, Cathy brings a renewed inspiration to the field of healing touch through her work with intuition and consciousness. She shares her expertise with intuitive healing modalities through the Continuing Education program at Scherer’s and in small healing meditation groups in Ashland.

As part of her dedication to peace in the world, Cathy is a volunteer mediator through a local organization that offers mediation in the small claims court system, and in community and family disputes. She also loves improv dance and performs at peace events with a small troupe of women in the Ashland, Oregon area where she lives – all part of keeping the creative spirit alive and well in her life.
