Cathy Hope, Aromatherapy

As a child, I was entranced by flowers and had my own small flower garden in which I dug to my heart's content. That sense of delight and curiosity is still with me, and has led me to formally study flower essence therapy at the California Flower Essence Society and Aromatherapy at the Pacific Institute of Aromatherapy.

During a massage in 1981, I heard an inner voice tell me to make massage oils with the addition of various essential oils to further enhance the therapeutic benefit of bodywork. Iris Herbal Products thus began. I became an apothecary – a grower and manufacturer of herbal medicines, and began devising aromatherapy combinations for both general use and specifically for massage therapists.

Over the past twenty years, I continued my research and developed a line of tinctures using primarily fresh organic or wildcrafted herbs. I currently have a website (www.irisherbal.com) where my products are available, including high quality essential oils at reasonable prices.

I have been teaching at the Scherer Institute since 1996, as well as teaching classes and workshops, and giving lectures in herbology, flower essences, and aromatherapy for businesses, massage schools and privately since 1984 and have been with the Scherer Institute since 1996.
